I just spoke at the Subsurface LIVE Winter 2022 conference, and it was great sharing more about a project that is so close to my heart.

I know it can be a pain to take notes during a conference, so I wanted to share my slide deck from this talk. If you have any questions, please drop a comment or reach out to me on Twitter or LinkedIn!

India’s National Data Platform is one of the largest public sector data lake projects of its kind and is used by everyone from the Prime Minister of India himself to every member of parliament and 100,000 government officials. The project brought together disparate data sources from 42 of India’s government ministries and siloed databases. The most unique thing about the landmark project: It was built by an eight-member team in under 12 months.

In this talk, I talked about the nuts and bolts of how our team leveraged DataOps principles to help make ourselves 6x more agile — covering both the tooling that made it possible, but more importantly, the cultural practices that made it possible.
