Mihir Modi, Data Governance Manager, Fox

One of our core, fundamental features we were looking for and strategic move was having a one-stop data platform.

I was explaining in the panel, as well, that as a user you discover your asset, you understand what that asset (is) with respect to the metadata that’s been put into the catalog, you understand key KPIs and metrics right from your glossary, you understand about your domain and what top questions it answers, and how you really calculate a particular metric. Then, you navigate to Looker dashboards, right within the catalog.

And, on top of it you have a query tool capability. So now, once you understand your asset, you are hooked into queries, right within the platform. You need not go to a SQL workbench, or a different tool for querying. That was one of the differentiators we were looking for, and Atlan clearly stood out, in terms of having that one data platform.

The second thing is partnership. I would say, out of all these (requirements), “Partnership” and “One-stop Data Platform” were key, core components of why we chose Atlan. At Fox, we wanted someone to partner with, and allow us to “shape” that future of Data Governance, and Atlan has been fantastic, so far. There has been collaboration of ideas between both of the teams, on how we can solve common business problems, and how we can be innovative.

And, Atlan is built on an Open API architecture. That clearly allows us to have extensibility across all of our data stacks.

Those were key game-changers.
